Overview

Golf in Arrowtown dates back to 1911, but the club as we know it was formed in 1936. This was a 9 hole course set within the mountain terrain just to the north of Queenstown. It wasn't until 1971 the club was able to form 18 holes, and although it's spectacular routing has been enhanced with the arrival of irrigation and technology, the integrity of the course has remained true and is most definitely one of New Zealand's 'Hidden Gems'. It measures under 6000 yards and proves that a string of 450+ par 4's are not a pre-requisite for enjoyment around a beautifully designed golf course. Strangely, Arrowtown is bunkerless, but the natural layout married with spectacular views of the 'Remarkables' gives you everything you want from a short, historic and welcoming club.
