Chantilly
Overview
Set in beautiful forests just 30 miles north of Paris is the wonderful Golf de Chantilly. It boasts two 18 courses, Le Vineuil and Les Longeres. The club dates back to 1909 but most of the holes we see today were designed by English architect Tom Simpson in the 1920's. Nick Faldo won the French Open twice around Chantilly, and this comes as no surprise when you see the thick rough and precision that's required. The clubhouse is steeped in history and it's a club that wouldn't look out of place in the English countryside complementing Sunningdale or Swinley Forest. It has that kind of feel to it - peaceful, remote, sophisticated, with a very impressive layout to plot your way around. It's a course you shouldn't miss if golfing around Paris.
