Royal Portrush Golf Club

Overview

Dunluce Course -
Portrush made a worldwide statement with its hugely successful hosting of The Open Championship in 2019. Previously the Claret Jug had not been played for in Ireland for almost 70 years, but Shane Lowry completed the fairytale story by winning on home soil in front of a sell out crowd. His walk up the 18th through the roaring Irish throng still leaves a slight tingle in the spine. The dramatic links was shown to the world in full splendour, resulting in Portrush becoming the most requested course by our knowledgable and well travelled clientele. In preparation for the Open, the club removed the old 17th and 18th holes which were deemed a little weak compared to the grandeur of the rest of the course. Two new holes were build within cavernous dune land belonging to the adjacent Valley layout. The result is one of the very best links courses in the world.

Valley Links -
The sister course to The Dunluce is known as The Valley Links. Originally designed by Harry Colt, the course has recently undergone major changes under Martin Ebert's supervision. The Valley, while measuring 6400 yards, provides a stern test of links golf, and was where hometown golfer Graeme McDowell honed his talents as a boy before going on to a hugely successful major championship winning career.
