Sunningdale Heath
Overview
Sunningdale Heath was formed from Sunningdale Ladies', which came into existence because ladies were not allowed to play at the main club. The club was developed on land originally forming part of Windsor Forest. It was bought in 1524 by St John's College Cambridge who still own it today. Sunningdale Ladies' was unique and steeped in history. Seven members of our Royal Family, five of whom directly descended from Queen Victoria, have held official positions within the club, including two future Queens. In 2018, two local professionals felt that the area was missing an all-inclusive experience that was kept in peak condition and surrounded by the modern technologies of a PGA tuition centre, so they put the offer to Sunningdale Ladies' and the new golf club was formed. We still have a Harry Colt classic, but one that's welcoming to the whole spectrum of new people taking up the game in and around Surrey. The result is an incredibly fun place to be. Who would've thought that a course measuring under 4000 yards could be so difficult? Several tour pros play and practice here on a regular basis and the score of par is not often bettered. The reason being that Sunningdale Heath is made up of fourteen challenging par 3's and four par 4's. With immaculate putting surfaces, and wide expanses of beautiful purple heather, this is the perfect warm-up to playing London's Hidden Gems, and also a great weekend option when many other clubs are member only.
